Communication out of recession
24th Apr 2010
"We had a really interesting session on corporate communications with a group of senior business people yesterday. All excellent people from big firms, some household names included.
What struck me was how busy these people and their staff have been during the recession, and it's not getting any quieter for them as UK Plc pulls itself out of the doldrums.
The business leaders I met agreed that this situation is unsustainable. Interestingly, most of them are focussing on communications as a central to gear up to business growth. But most of them want a new type of communications strategy, not simply the tired old straight-PR approach.
They want better internal communications to improve staff morale. They want more digital communications to drive business growth cost-effectively. And they want to improve the quality of the messages they use so they don't have to have a blitz on PR but when they do communicate, they communicate well."
