Westminster Advisers creates London School of Economics Scholarship
Westminster Advisers has set up a scholarship at the London School of Economics (LSE) to provide financial support to a student who would otherwise be unable to take up their place at university.
The Westminster Advisers Scholarship will be awarded for the first time at the beginning of the 2011/2012 academic year and is the first scholarship to be directed specifically for the BSc Government programme at the LSE. The scholarship is means-tested and will provide the recipient with financial support for the three years of study, covering tuition fees and support with living expenses.
The establishment of the Westminster Advisers Scholarship will contribute to the LSE’s aim of enabling the brightest students’ access to a world-class education, regardless of financial circumstances.
Dominic Church, Managing Director, Westminster Advisers said: “Politics is what we live and breathe so we are really pleased to be able help give someone a chance to study it at degree level at LSE.”
Welcoming the establishment of the scholarship, Professor Paul Kelly, Head of the Government Department at the LSE said: “We are delighted to receive this generous gift from Westminster Advisers, which will enable a student to access an LSE education, regardless of their financial means and I look forward to welcoming the student to our programme. The Government Department at LSE is world-leading in terms of both its teaching and research and the generosity of Westminster Advisers has made this available to a potential young scholar who would not normally have been able to study for a BSc Government in this world class environment.”
