Reginald Watts joins Westminster Advisers

Reginald Watts, past President of the CIPR and one-time CEO of Burson Marsteller London, has joined the Board of government relations consultancy Westminster Advisers as Non-Executive Director.

Dr Watts was CEO of B-M for more than a decade and later founded his own company The Watts Group, selling it to Citigate, where he remained as Deputy Chair of the corporate communications division. He is the author of four books on communications and until last year was an External Examiner for the Thames Valley University' Masters Degree in corporate communications. He was a senior Conservative member of Westminster City Council, Chair of Housing, Deputy Lord Mayor and represented Westminster on The Inner London Education Committee.

"We are delighted Reginald has joined us at Westminster Advisers where we are widening our services into corporate communications as well as direct government relations" says Dominic Church, Managing Director of Westminster Advisers.

The consultancy was founded more than ten years ago by Douglas Smith, a leading governmental adviser, who sold an equity majority last year to Dominic Church and Account Directors Ian Targett and Marc Woolfson.

Westminster Advisers is going through a period of expansion as more companies want to take this pre-election opportunity to establish new contacts with the Conservative leadership and express their views on policy making says Church. Government, business and the electorate will be taking fresh initiatives and forming new ways of relating to each other in a climate of higher transparency, intensive use of digital social media and a general crossing of traditional communications boundaries. Reginald will be able to play an active role with us in taking advantage of this new communications climate
